Japan’s Ministry of Finance said it shut down part of its website yesterday after it was hacked.
The section that displays details of state-owned assets was hacked, according to a Finance Ministry official who spoke on condition of anonymity in accord with the ministry’s policy. The official said an investigation is under way to discover who was responsible for the intrusion. NHK and Kyodo News were among local media reporting the incident earlier.
