Brazilian Stock Movers: Banco do Brasil, Ecorodovias and Hering

The following companies had unusual price changes in Sao Paulo trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses, and prices are as of the market close. Preferred shares are usually the most-traded class of stock.

The Bovespa (IBOV) Index rose 0.1 percent to 53,836.57.

Banco do Brasil SA (BBAS3 BS) fell 2.4 percent to 18.65 reais, the lowest level in three years. The lender and Votorantim Financas SA will inject 1 billion reais ($482 million) each in Banco Votorantim SA, Banco do Brasil said in a regulatory filing yesterday after the market closed.

Ecorodovias Infraestrutura e Logistica SA (ECOR3 BS) declined 2.3 percent to 16.11 reais. The road concession group said in a regulatory filing today that a shareholder, Primav Construcoes e Comercio SA, plans to pay 16.59 reais a share to buy an additional 19 percent stake in the company from Impregilo International Infrastructures NV in a 1.76 billion reais deal.

Cia. Hering (HGTX3) (HGTX3 BS), Brazil’s second-biggest clothing retailer, slumped 7.7 percent to 37.06 reais, the most in nine months, on mounting concern a deeper global slowdown will curb growth in the country and affect the company’s results.
