Iran has discovered new copper reserves and aims to become the fifth-largest producer of the commodity by 2014, Press TV reported, citing an Iranian industry official.
Iran holds 270 million tons of copper deposits and ranks seventh in the word for production, Ardeshir Saad-Mohammadi, the National Iranian Copper Industries Co. managing director said, according to the state-run news channel.
Iran will give details of the new discovery amount after a final review, the report published on Press TV’s website said.
