Saudi Arabia May Pay Salaries of Free Syrian Army, Guardian Says

Saudi Arabia plans to pay the salaries of the rebel Free Syrian Army to increase pressure on President Bashar al-Assad, the Guardian reported.

The funding has been discussed between officials from Saudi Arabia, the U.S. and Arab countries, according to the London- based newspaper, which cited unidentified people in three Arab states. Turkey has allowed a command center to be established in Istanbul to organize weapons supply to the rebel army, the Guardian reported, without saying where it got the information.
