Mets Defeat Yankees 6-4 to Open Three-Game Interleague NY Series

The New York Mets defeated the New York Yankees 6-4 in the opener of their three-game interleague series at Citi Field.
Ike Davis hit a three-run homer and the Mets scored five runs in the first inning off Andy Pettitte.
Alex Rodriguez and Andruw Jones hit solo home runs for the Yankees to make it 5-2 before David Wright’s run-scoring double gave the Mets a 6-2 lead after seven innings.
The Yankees pulled within two runs on a two-run homer by Robinson Cano in the eighth inning.
The start of the game was delayed 61 minutes by rain.
