HP Plans 8,000 Job Cuts in Europe by the End of 2014, WiWo Says

Hewlett-Packard Co. (HPQ) plans to cut 8,000 jobs in Europe, including as many as 1,000 German positions, as part of a restructuring it announced in May, WirtschaftsWoche said, citing an unnamed worker representative.

Hewlett-Packard confirmed the European cuts, saying that it told executives two weeks ago the restructuring would affect workforces in the region, Africa and the Middle East, WirtschaftsWoche said. The company declined to comment on losses in Germany, the magazine said.
