The Jakarta Composite index fell 1.1 percent to 3,901.79.
Energy companies: Crude oil for August delivery declined 4 percent to $78.20 a barrel in New York yesterday, the lowest settlement since Oct. 4. Oil was last at $78.53 in after-hours trading. PT Medco Energi Internasional (MEDC) , Indonesia’s biggest listed oil company, was unchanged at 1,820 rupiah and PT Energi Mega Persada (ENRG) , the second largest, retreated 1.4 percent to 137 rupiah.
Nickel producers: Nickel futures in London sank 4.4 percent to $16,450 a metric ton yesterday, the steepest drop since April 16. PT Vale Indonesia (INCO) , the nation’s biggest producer of the metal, was unchanged at 2,625 rupiah and PT Aneka Tambang (ANTM) , the second largest, fell 2.9 percent to 1,350 rupiah.
PT Astra Agro Lestari (AALI) : Indonesia’s biggest listed plantation company by market value said crude palm oil sales rose 10 percent to 523,131 tons in the first five months of the year. The company’s average selling price slipped 0.3 percent to 8,016 rupiah a kilogram, it said. Astra Agro lost 0.5 percent to 21,200 rupiah.
PT Dian Swastatika Sentosa (DSSA) : The power producer raised its spending target on capital expenditure this year to $120 million from $80 million as it plans to build a steam power plant in South Sumatra province, Kontan reported without saying where it obtained the information. The project may require capital expenditure of $400 million until 2015 for which the company is seeking a loan of as much as $320 million, the report said. Dian Swastatika slid 0.4 percent to 13,000 rupiah.
PT Intraco Penta (INTA) : The company obtained a $251 million loan from PT Bank Mandiri (BMRI IJ) to purchase heavy equipment and resell it, Bisnis Indonesia reported, citing Fred Manibog, finance director at Intraco. The stock fell 1.4 percent to 700 rupiah and Mandiri, Indonesia’s biggest bank by assets, was unchanged at 7,250 rupiah.
PT Perusahaan Gas Negara (PGAS) : Indonesia’s largest gas distributor said supply to industrial customers in East Java province will reach as much as 150 million standard cubic feet a day in June, the company said in a statement. Gas Negara dropped 4.3 percent to 3,375 rupiah.
