Turkey Stocks: Polisan, Turkish Airlines Are Active in Istanbul
Turkey’s benchmark ISE National 100 Index (XU100) rose 0.8 percent to 59,854.80 at the midday break in Istanbul. The gauge is up 8.6 percent this month, having advanced in 14 of the past 15 days.
The following shares were active. Stock symbols are in parentheses.
Polisan Holding AS (POLHO) , a Turkish maker of paints and dyes, rose to its highest since the shares began trading on May 25, adding 0.9 percent to 2.23 liras, after saying its chemicals unit started talks with foreign companies for a production license for expandable polystyrene.
Turk Hava Yollari (THYAO) AO, or Turkish Airlines, headed for the highest in more than 10 months, adding 3.5 percent to 2.98 liras, after saying it will order at least 15 large aircraft as early as next month and is also looking at about 10 acquisition prospects with no upper limit on transaction size.
