Axa Plans $17 Million Investments in Romania This Year, ZF Says

Axa SA (CS), Europe’s second-biggest insurer, plans to invest about 61 million lei ($17 million) in Romania this year, Ziarul Financiar reported, citing Violeta Ciurel, who heads the company’s Romanian unit.
Axa seeks to expand its network in the eastern European country and plans to hire about 230 new sales consultants, according to the Bucharest-based newspaper. The insurer increased the capital of its Romanian unit by 9.5 million euros ($12 million) at the end of April, Ziarul Financiar said.
