Finland’s Parliament Scheduled to Vote on ESM on June 21

Finland’s parliament will vote on the European Stability Mechanism on June 21, said Merja Kivinen, a spokeswoman at the legislature in Helsinki.

The vote on approving the 17-nation euro bloc’s permanent rescue fund is set for 10 a.m. that day, she said by telephone.

Parliament will also vote on the government’s municipal mergers plan and the second supplementary budget, including the first payment into the rescue fund, Kivinen said.

Prime Minister Jyrki Katainen’s cabinet has the backing of 124 lawmakers of the legislature’s 200.
