Thailand Equity Movers: Chai Watana, PTT Exploration, Srivichai

Shares of the following companies had unusual moves in Thailand trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are as of the close in Bangkok.

The SET Index (SET) fell 0.2 percent to 1,163.41.

Chai Watana Tannery Pcl (CWT) , a producer of leather seats for automobiles, advanced 1 percent to 2.10 baht. The company’s revenue may rise to 1.2 billion baht ($38 million) in 2012, Thai-language Kao Hoon reported, citing Managing Director Weerapon Chaiteerath. The company may build a plant in Indonesia, the newspaper said. Weerapon wasn’t available for comment after a call to his office.

PTT Exploration & Production Pcl (PTTEP) , the nation’s only publicly traded oil explorer, dropped 1.4 percent to 172 baht. Oil for July delivery declined as much as 0.4 percent to $83.66 a barrel in New York.

Srivichai Vejvivat Pcl (VIH) , a hospital operator, slid 2.6 percent to 3.06 baht, the lowest close since June 7. Investors are required to pay cash upfront before placing orders to buy the company’s shares, the Thai exchange said in a statement.
