Thailand Stocks: PTT, PTT Exploration & Production, Sri Trang
The SET Index (SET) rose 1.1 percent to 1,165.73, the highest close since May 17. The gauge gained 3.4 percent this week, the biggest weekly increase in six months.
Oil companies: PTT Pcl (PTT) , Thailand’s largest energy company, climbed 2.2 percent to 333 baht, the highest close since May 15. PTT Exploration & Production Pcl (PTTEP) , Thailand’s only publicly traded oil explorer, jumped 3.9 percent to 174.50 baht, halting a two-day decline.
Crude oil for July delivery gained for a second day, rising as much as 89 cents to $84.80 a barrel in electronic trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
Sri Trang Agro-Industry Pcl (STA) , Thailand’s largest rubber producer, rose 1.3 percent to 15.30 baht. Rubber futures rose 1.8 percent to end at 247.8 yen a kilogram ($3,138 a metric ton), the highest settlement price since June 1, on the Tokyo Commodity Exchange.
