Vietnam’s Stock Movers: Bien Hoa Sugar, Tan Dai Hung Plastic

Shares of the following companies had unusual moves in Vietnam trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are as of the close in Ho Chi Minh City. The VN Index (VNINDEX), the benchmark measure of the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange, fell 0.5 percent to 425.28.

Bien Hoa Sugar Joint-Stock Co. (BHS) , a sugar manufacturer based in the southern province of Dong Nai, advanced by the daily limit of 5 percent to 19,000 dong, the highest close since May 25. Thanh Thanh Cong Co. plans to acquire a 23 percent stake in Bien Hoa from June 18 to July 18, according to an exchange filing.

Tan Dai Hung Plastic Joint-Stock Co. (TPC VN), a Ho Chi Minh City-based plastic bag maker, dropped 2.8 percent to 10,600 dong, the lowest close since June 5. Que Tran Co. cut its stake in Tan Dai Hung to 4.8 percent from 7.9 percent, according to a statement on the bourse’s website.
