Romania Seeks Minimum $881 Million From Phone License Extensions

Romania seeks to get at least 700 million euros ($881 million) in revenue from extending mobile phone licenses, Andrei Zaharescu, a government spokesman said today after a cabinet meeting.

The government plans to auction new licenses for mobile phone operators, such as France Telecom SA (FTE) and Vodafone Group Plc, including fourth-generation phone permits this year, through the country’s telecom market regulator, ANCOM.
