Oman Arrests Several People for Sit-Ins, Strikes, ONA Reports

Omani security forces arrested several people accused of provoking sit-ins and strikes, spreading rumors and writing libelous material, the Oman News Agency reported, citing the public prosecutor.

Omanis in the city of Sohar, inspired by protests across the Arab world, held demonstrations in February last year demanding more jobs and better pay. At least one person was killed in clashes with security forces.
