Brazil’s Aeris Energy to Quadruple Wind-Turbine Blade Production
Aeris Energy, the Brazilian maker of blades for wind turbines, will build a factory in the northeastern city of Feira de Santana and double capacity of an existing facility.
Aeris expects to begin construction on the 117 million-real ($56.9 million) Feira de Santana plant after it finds customers for the blades, which will probably happen this year, Executive Director Bruno Vilela Cunha said today in a telephone interview.
The company, based in Fortaleza, Brazil, will also boost capacity of its existing factory in the northeastern city of Pecem to 2,000 blades a year in 2015, from 1,000 now, he said.
