James starts in September at UBS, which acts as broker or adviser to 34 FTSE 100 and 38 FTSE 250 clients, it said in a memorandum to employees. The memo was confirmed by a spokesman in London today.
James worked at Citigroup for the past 15 years including nine years as head of corporate broking and as joint head of the firm’s U.K. banking and broking business. His most recent role was vice chairman of Europe, Middle East and Africa banking since 2010.
Brokers in Britain liaise with investors on behalf of companies, and often manage stock and bond offerings.
