Red Bull’s Vettel Claims Pole Position for Canadian Grand Prix

Red Bull’s Sebastian Vettel claimed his second pole position of the Formula One season by topping qualifying for tomorrow’s Canadian Grand Prix.

Vettel, the two-time defending world champion, beat McLaren’s Lewis Hamilton by three-tenths of a second at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal. It’s the German’s second straight pole in Canada and 32nd of his career.

Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso, who leads the season standings, will start on row two next to Red Bull’s Mark Webber. Nico Rosberg of Mercedes, Ferrari’s Felipe Massa, Lotus’s Romain Grosjean, Force India’s Paul di Resta, Mercedes’s Michael Schumacher and Jenson Button of McLaren round out the top-10 qualifiers.

Six different drivers have won the first six races of the season.
