Phillies Place Utley’s Replacement Galvis on Disabled List

The Philadelphia Philles placed second baseman Freddy Galvis, who is replacing injured All-Star Chase Utley, on the disabled list with a strained lower back, the team said on its Twitter feed.

Galvis, 22, is batting .226 with 3 home runs and 24 runs batted in during 58 games this year. Utley started the season on the disabled list with injured knees.
