Malaysian Stocks: Infortech Alliance, Texchem Resources, YTL

Shares of the following companies had unusual moves in Malaysia trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are as of the close in Kuala Lumpur.

The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI Index (FBMKLCI) rose 0.4 percent to 1,575.31, its third day of gains.

Infortech Alliance Bhd. (INAL) , a computer software company, surged 16 percent to 22 sen, its steepest increase since Feb. 10. The company proposed a private placement of as much as 10 percent of new shares to raise about 1.3 million ringgit ($410,000), it said in a stock-exchange filing.

Texchem Resources Bhd. (TEX) , which trades specialty chemicals and manufactures industrial packaging products, fell 4.9 percent to 58 sen. The company agreed to buy 51 percent of PT Technopia Lever from PT Unilever Indonesia for 12.6 million ringgit, it said in a statement.

YTL Corp. (YTL) , a construction and utilities group, advanced 1.6 percent to 1.95 ringgit, a record close. The company spent 11.6 million ringgit buying back 6 million of its own shares, it said in a statement.
