Shares of the following companies had unusual moves in Thailand trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are as of the close in Bangkok. The SET Index (SET) rose 1.7 percent to 1,117.95, the largest increase since Feb. 15.
Oil companies: PTT Pcl (PTT) , Thailand’s largest energy company, climbed 1.7 percent to 308 baht, the first advance in three days. PTT Exploration & Production Pcl (PTTEP) , Thailand’s only publicly traded oil explorer, gained 1.6 percent to 157.50 baht.
Oil for July delivery rose for a third day, climbing as much as $1.10 to $85.39 a barrel in New York.
Quality Houses Pcl (QH) , a property developer, added 2.8 percent to 1.48 baht, the biggest gain since May 10. The company plans to raise about 2 billion baht ($63.6 million) from a property fund, Senior Executive Vice President Suwanna Buddhaprasart told investors in Bangkok today.
Sahaviriya Steel Industries Pcl (SSI) , the country’s biggest steelmaker, advanced 1.5 percent to 0.66 baht, the first increase in four days. The company raised 600 million baht selling convertible bonds to a group of investors, it said in a regulatory filing today.
