U.S. Says G-7 Leaders Discussed Global Economy, Markets

Group of Seven finance ministers and central bankers discussed developments in the global economy and financial markets, the U.S. Treasury Department said today.

“The G-7 ministers and governors reviewed developments in the global economy and financial markets and the policy response under consideration, including the progress towards financial and fiscal union in Europe,” the Treasury said in a statement.

It said the group agreed to “monitor developments closely” ahead of a meeting of Group of 20 leaders in Los Cabos, Mexico, this month.
