Kings Beat Devils 2-1 in Overtime to Open NHL Stanley Cup Final
The Los Angeles Kings defeated the New Jersey Devils 2-1 in overtime in the opening game of the National Hockey League’s Stanley Cup Final.
The teams return to the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, for Game 2 in the best-of-seven series on June 2.
The Kings are seeking their first NHL title after losing in their only visit to the Stanley Cup Final in 1993. The Devils won the championship in 2003, 2000 and 1995.
