The SET Index (SET) rose 0.3 percent to 1,141.50. The gauge has lost 7.1 percent this month, poised for the first monthly drop since September.
Asia Aviation Pcl (AAV) , the parent of Thai AirAsia Co. Ltd., the nation’s largest budget carrier, closed unchanged at 3.7 baht, after rising as much as 8.1 percent in its trading debut. The company and its major shareholders sold 1.21 billion shares at 3.70 baht each in an initial public offering this month. Net income in the first quarter dropped 29 percent to 316.5 million baht ($9.9 million), the company said yesterday.
Siam Inter Multimedia Pcl (SMM) , a book publisher, dropped 22 percent to 2.4 baht, the largest decline since January 30, 2009. The company yesterday said it wasn’t aware of any reason for a recent rally in its shares, which have tripled over the past two weeks.
Thai Rubber Latex Corp. (Thailand) Pcl (TRUBB) fell 1.3 percent to 3.14 baht. Rubber futures lost as much as 5.1 percent to 257.9 yen a kilogram ($3,271 a metric ton), the lowest price since Nov. 24, on the Tokyo Commodity Exchange.
