The Jakarta Composite index rose 0.38 point, or less than 0.1 percent, to 3,919.07.
Nickel producers: Nickel for three-month delivery declined 2.7 percent to $16,550 a metric ton in London yesterday, the steepest drop since April 16. PT Vale Indonesia (INCO) , the nation’s biggest producer of the metal, was unchanged at 2,450 rupiah and PT Aneka Tambang (ANTM) , the second largest, fell 2.9 percent to 1,330 rupiah.
PT Semen Gresik (SMGR) : Indonesia’s biggest cement producer has earmarked $400 million for an acquisition in Vietnam that it expects to complete in July, Investor Daily Indonesia reported, citing President Director Dwi Soetjipto. Semen Gresik may issue dollar-denominated bonds or seek bank loans to finance 70 percent of the acquisition, the report said. Semen Gresik fell 1.4 percent to 10,850 rupiah.
PT Surya Esa Perkasa (ESSA) : The producer of liquefied petroleum gas may obtain a 4.9 trillion rupiah ($516 million) syndicated loan from seven overseas banks, Bisnis Indonesia reported, citing Corporate Secretary Kanishk Laroya. The loan will be used to build an ammonia plant with an annual capacity of 700,000 tons, the report said. Surya Esa dropped 1.1 percent to 1,740 rupiah.
