Zimbabwe Bank Deposits Rise to $4 Billion, Newsday Reports

Bank deposits in Zimbabwe rose to $4 billion this month from $3.3 billion in January, Newsday said, citing central bank Governor Gideon Gono.

Loans amounted to $2.8 billion, Harare-based Newsday said on its website. Only 5 percent of credit went to small and medium-sized businesses, Newsday cited Gono as saying.
