Colombian Stocks: Ecopetrol, Isagen, Mineros, Pacific Rubiales

The following companies had unusual price changes in Bogota trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses, and prices are as of the close.

The IGBC Index (IGBC) gained 0.1 percent to 14,473.77, while the Colcap Index (COLCAP) dropped 0.4 percent to 1,713.33.

Isagen SA (ISAGEN) , a Colombian energy company, rose 0.8 percent to 2,500 pesos, extending its weekly gain to 4 percent. MSCI Inc. will add Isagen to its Colombia and Emerging Markets Latin America indexes effective May 31, according to a statement posted May 15 on its website.

Oil producers gained as crude futures rose for a second day in New York.

Pacific Rubiales Energy Corp. (PRE) , which operates Colombia’s largest oil field, advanced 1.2 percent to 47,700 pesos. Ecopetrol SA (ECOPETL) , Colombia’s largest oil company, rose 0.8 percent to 5,300 pesos. Canacol Energy Ltd. (CNEC) , the Calgary-based oil company that operates fields in Colombia, gained 1.7 percent to 1,180 pesos.

Mineros SA (MINEROS) , a Colombian gold producer, increased 0.2 percent to 4,785 pesos. Colombia has no plans to extend a freeze on most mining concessions scheduled to be lifted in August, when the government will begin reviewing petitions, Deputy Mines Minister Henry Medina said today in an interview in Bogota. Colombia had extended the freeze this year to resolve a backlog of thousands of petitions for mining rights, according to the ministry.
