Persian Gulf Stocks: Drake & Scull and Emaar Properties in Dubai

Dubai’s benchmark DFM General Index (DFMGI) rallied 1.5 percent, the most in almost a month, to 1,488.09 at the 2 p.m. close in the emirate.

The following shares were active in the Persian Gulf region. Stock symbols are in parentheses.

Drake & Scull International PJSC (DSI) advanced 1 percent to 80.8 fils, the highest close in a week. The Dubai construction company is “about to take its first job” in Iraq, the company’s chief executive officer said.

Emaar Properties PJSC (EMAAR) gained 2.4 percent, the most since April 22, to 2.95 dirhams. The developer of the world’s tallest tower will begin selling 224 apartments at a residential community overlooking the Emirates Golf Course in Dubai.
