Seven people from Westport Petroleum Inc.’s fuel-oil trading team in Singapore and Nashville, Tennessee, are leaving for Louis Dreyfus Highbridge Energy LLC, according to two people with knowledge of the situation.
Three people are departing Westport’s Singapore office and will stay in the city with LDH Energy, according to the people. The remaining four, who were based in Nashville, will work for LDH in Houston, they said. Pasadena, California-based Westport is a wholly owned subsidiary of Mitsui & Co. (8031) Reuters reported the departures on May 4.
Alex Plantilla, an official at Westport in Pasadena, didn’t return a phone message left at his office. An official at Stanford, Connecticut-based LDH Energy declined to comment when contacted by Bloomberg News.
