The Indiana Pacers won 78-75 in Miami to tie the Heat at one game apiece, while the San Antonio Spurs won the opening game of their National Basketball Association second-round playoff series against the Los Angeles Clippers.
Indiana trailed 21-17 after the first quarter and 38-33 at halftime before rallying to lead 61-52 with one quarter to play at AmericanAirlines Arena in Miami last night.
The Heat won Game 1 in the best-of-seven Eastern Conference semifinal series 95-86. After two games in Miami, the teams now travel to Indianapolis for Game 3 tomorrow.
The Spurs defeated the Clippers 108-92 at AT&T Center in San Antonio to open their Western Conference semifinal series.
Tim Duncan had 26 points and 10 rebounds while Manu Ginobili came off the bench to add 22 points for the Spurs, who had a 57-49 halftime advantage.
Eric Bledsoe had 23 points to lead the Clippers, with Caron Butler and Blake Griffin each contributing 15 points.
The Spurs host the Clippers in Game 2 tomorrow.
Tonight, the Los Angeles Lakers will seek to rebound from a 119-90 defeat to the Oklahoma City Thunder in their series opener, while the Boston Celtics visit the Philadelphia 76ers with the teams tied at a game apiece.
