Elektra Tumbles 15% in Mexico City After Leaving MSCI

(Corrects date of announcement in second paragraph.)

Grupo Elektra SA, the retail and banking company controlled by billionaire Ricardo Salinas, plunged as much as 15 percent in Mexico City trading.

The stock was removed from MSCI Inc. (MSCI)’s family of indexes in a rebalancing announced yesterday and effective May 31, according to a statement on MSCI’s website.
