Carter Scores Three as Kings Defeat Coyotes 4-0 in NHL Playoffs

Jeff Carter scored three goals and goalie Jonathan Quick stopped 24 shots for his third career playoff shutout as the Los Angeles Kings defeated the Phoenix Coyotes 4-0 to lead their National Hockey League playoff series two games to none.

The winner of the best-of-seven Western Conference finals will play the New York Rangers or the New Jersey Devils in the Stanley Cup Final.

Dwight King scored his fourth goal of the playoffs in the first period at Arena in Glendale, Arizona. Carter added two goals in the second period and another in the third.

The Kings, who are 7-0 on the road this postseason, host the Coyotes tomorrow with Game 4 following on May 20, also in Los Angeles.

Tonight, the Rangers host the Devils in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference finals. New York won the series opener 3-0.
