Surkov Seen as Chief of Staff in New Government, Kommersant Says

Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev is expected to keep Vladislav Surkov in his current position of Deputy Prime Minister and name him to the post of Chief of Staff, Kommersant reported, citing two unidentified people close to the government.

Medvedev met with Surkov on Monday to discuss the makeup of the new government and is expected to submit his proposals to President Vladimir Putin today, according to the Moscow-based newspaper.
