Polish End-April Budget Deficit Widens to 71% of 2012 Limit

Poland’s central government budget deficit widened to 24.8 billion zloty ($7.4 billion) at the end of April, or 70.9 percent of the full-year limit, the Finance Ministry in Warsaw said today in an e-mailed statement.

Revenue was 93.9 billion zloty, or 32 percent of the 2012 ceiling, while spending amounted to 118.7 billion zloty, or 36.1 percent of the cap, according to the statement. The deficit, which totaled 23 billion zloty through the end of March, is limited by the government’s 2012 budget law at 35 billion zloty.
