Egyptian Stocks: Orascom Telecom Holding, Amer Group Holding

Egypt’s benchmark EGX30 Index (EGX30) retreated for the fourth time in five days, losing 1.1 percent to 5,004.98 at the close in Cairo.

The following shares are active on the Egyptian Exchange. Stock symbols follow company names.

Amer Group Holding (AMER) slumped 4.2 percent, the biggest drop since March 25, to 68 piasters. The Cairo-based developer and operator of resorts and restaurants said its board hasn’t discussed or studied a possible sukuk sale, contradicting a report in Al Mal newspaper yesterday.

Orascom Telecom Holding SAE (ORTE) decreased for a second day, declining 1.8 percent to 3.31 pounds. North Africa’s biggest mobile-phone company said first-quarter profit tumbled 86 percent to $115.7 million as a one-time gain wasn’t repeated.
