Heat Beat Pacers to Open NBA Series as Clippers Oust Grizzlies

The Miami Heat beat the Indiana Pacers 95-86 in the opening game of their National Basketball Association second-round playoff series.

LeBron James scored 32 points and Dwyane Wade added 29 for the Heat at AmericanAirlines Arena in Miami. The Heat, who outscored the Pacers 53-38 during the second half, knocked off the New York Knicks in five games in the first round.

Roy Hibbert and David West each scored 17 points for the Pacers, who are in the second round for the first time since 2005 after eliminating the Orlando Magic.

Earlier today, the Los Angeles Clippers moved into the second round with a 82-72 win over the Memphis Grizzlies in Game 7 of their Western Conference series. Chris Paul scored 19 points to lead the Clippers, who advance to face the San Antonio Spurs after winning the last opening-round series.
