CBS Cancels ‘CSI: Miami’ Adding Show to Netflix Streaming
“‘CSI: Miami’ leaves an amazing television legacy - a signature look and style, global popularity and as a key player in CBS’s rise to the top over the past decade,” the New York- based network said today in an e-mailed statement.
CBS also airs “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation” and “CSI: New York.” “CSI: Miami,” starring David Caruso, was produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, Jonathan Littman and Ann Donahue.
The show will continue to be sold as reruns to other networks and will become available through CBS’s digital distribution deals, which includes streaming on Netflix.
CBS, controlled by Chairman Sumner Redstone, fell 0.7 percent to $32.80 at the close of trading on May 11 in New York. The shares have climbed 21 percent this year before today.
Broadcast and cable networks unveil their September 2012 schedules this week in upfront meetings with advertisers in New York. Comcast Corp. (CMCSA)’s NBC introduced its lineup today. News Corp. (NWSA)’s Fox network releases its schedule today.
