Mexico Stocks: America Movil, Grupo Mexico, Walmex Are Active
The following companies are having unusual price changes in Mexico trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses, and prices are as of 2:06 p.m. in Mexico City.
The IPC index fell 0.1 percent to 39,067.95.
Wal-Mart de Mexico SAB (WALMEXV MM), Latin America’s largest retailer, climbed 2.1 percent to 35.05 pesos. Investors are underestimating the potential for the company to expand, UBS AG analysts led by Gustavo Piras Oliveira wrote in a research note e-mailed today.
America Movil SAB (AMXL) , the wireless carrier controlled by billionaire Carlos Slim, fell 0.6 percent to 17.09 pesos. The company said today that it agreed to buy a T-Mobile USA Inc. division called Simple Mobile Inc.
Grupo Mexico SAB (GMEXICOB) , Mexico’s biggest mining company, rose 0.3 percent to 39.99 pesos. Copper futures advanced as Greek efforts to form a new government and a decline in U.S. jobless claims helped assuage concerns that global growth and commodity demand will falter.
