Eskom Holdings SOC Ltd., South Africa’s state-owned power utility, said today equipment with the capacity to generate 3,415 megawatts is undergoing planned maintenance.
A further 4,980 megawatts isn’t available because of unplanned outages, the Johannesburg-based company said in an e- mailed statement. Eskom’s capacity to meet peak demand today is 34,559 megawatts while demand is forecast at 32,906 megawatts, it said.
