Colombian Stocks: Ecopetrol and Canacol Energy Were Active
The following companies had unusual price changes in Bogota trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses, and prices are as of the close of trading.
The IGBC Index (IGBC) rose 0.2 percent to 15,240.93, while the Colcap Index (COLCAP) increased 0.2 percent to 1,802.34.
Ecopetrol SA (EC) , Colombia’s largest oil company, rose 0.9 percent to 5,650 pesos. The government will seek the involvement of Chinese companies in a pipeline to transport oil from the Caribbean to the Pacific coast, Mines and Energy Minister Mauricio Cardenas said in an e-mailed statement.
Canacol Energy Ltd. (CNE) , the Calgary-based oil company that operates fields in Colombia, dropped 2.3 percent to 1,300 pesos. Crude for June delivery dropped to a three-month low in New York.
