Peru Stocks: Alicorp, Atacocha, Buenaventura, Volcan

The following companies had unusual price changes in Peru trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses, and share prices are as of the market close in Lima.

The Lima General Index (IGBVL) rose for the first time this week, gaining 0.4 percent to 22,138.03. The MSCI All Peru Capped Index dropped 0.3 percent to 2,881.08.

Volcan Cia. Minera SAA (VOLCABC1 PE), Peru’s largest zinc and silver producer, rose 3.9 percent to 3.20 soles after zinc and lead rebounded in London.

Cia. Minera Atacocha SA (ATACOBC1 PE), the Lima-based zinc and lead mining company, gained 3.8 percent to 55 centimos.

Cia. de Minas Buenaventura SAA (BVN PE), the country’s biggest precious-metals miner, advanced 2 percent to $40.40 after gold and silver climbed in New York.

Alicorp SA (ALICORC1) (ALICORC1 PE), Peru’s largest foodstuff maker, rose 2.2 percent to 6.90 soles after Inteligo SAB analyst Alessandra Bazan rated the stock a new buy.

Southern Copper Corp. (SCCO) , Peru’s biggest copper producer, fell 3 percent to $32.30 after copper declined for a third day in New York.
