Chile Stocks: Andina, Azul Azul, Cencosud, Corpbanca Were Active
The following companies had unusual price changes in Chilean trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses, and prices are as of the close in Santiago.
Azul Azul SA (AZUL) fell 13 percent to 1,675.40 pesos, the biggest slump since Jan. 25. The owner of the Universidad de Chile soccer team fell after it lost 4-1 to Ecuador’s Deportivo Quito in the first game of a quarterfinal round in the Libertadores regional soccer tournament.
Cencosud SA (CENCOSUD) rose 0.7 percent to 3,004.3 pesos. Chile’s largest retailer by sales reopened one of its supermarkets in Santiago that had been temporarily closed because of a sanitary violation.
Corpbanca (CORPBANC) fell 0.8 percent to 6.528 pesos. Chile’s fifth-largest lender by assets plans to sell 43 billion shares as part of a rights offering from May 11 through June 9. It also plans to set up a $750 million program to sell certificates of deposit to investors in the U.S., according to an e-mailed statement.
Embotelladora Andina SA (AKO/A) advanced 1.1 percent to 2,610 pesos. Chile’s largest Coca-Cola bottler had its target price increased to 2,760 pesos at Banco de Credito & Inversiones, which cited the takeover of Embotelladoras Coca- Cola Polar SA.
