Google Share of U.S. Smartphone Market Tops 50%, ComScore Says

Google Inc. (GOOG)’s Android operating system powered 51 percent of U.S. smartphones in the three months ended March 31, ComScore Inc. (SCOR) said today.

Apple Inc. (AAPL) ranked second, with 31 percent, followed by Research In Motion Ltd. (RIM), with 12 percent. Google’s share in the previous three-month period was 47 percent, ComScore said.
