Peru Stocks: Buenaventura, Candente, Ferreyros, Siderperu
The following companies are having unusual price changes in Peru trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and share prices are as 1:20 p.m. in Lima trading.
The Lima General Index (IGBVL) fell 0.8 percent to 22,726.12, extending its drop in April to 3.8 percent. The MSCI All Peru Capped Index slid 0.8 percent to 2,955.72 today.
Candente Copper Corp. (DNT) , a Canadian mining exploration company with operations in Peru, plunged 9 percent to 81 cents after an agreement for land rights for its Canariaco copper deposit was delayed.
Cia. de Minas Buenaventura SAA (BVN PE), the country’s biggest precious-metals miner, fell 2.1 percent to $41.35 after Chief Executive Officer Roque Benavides today said costs will rise at its Minas Conga gold project.
Ferreyros SA (FERREYC1) (FERREYC1 PE), the Lima-based distributor for Caterpillar Inc., dropped 1 percent to 2.93 soles. The shares slid as U.S. stocks slumped, according to Jorge Rodriguez, an analyst at Lima-based brokerage Kallpa Securities SAB.
Empresa Siderurgica del Peru SAA (SIDERC1 PE), a unit of Gerdau SA known as Siderperu, slid 1 percent to 98 centimos.
