Algerian Car Imports Rise 17% in First Quarter 2012, APS Reports

Algeria’s car imports increased by 17 percent to 102,720 vehicles in the first quarter of 2012 compared with 87,962 in the same period last year, the state-run APS news agency reported today, citing Algerian Customs.

The value of vehicle imports increased by almost 22 percent to 97.7 billion Algerian dinars ($1.31 billion) in the first quarter of 2012 from 80.40 billion dinars over the same period in 2011, according to Customs department figures.
