Haemonetics Corp. (HAE) said it agreed to acquire the blood collection and filtration assets of Pall Corp. (PAL) for approximately $551 million, and separately agreed to buy certain assets of Hemerus Medical LLC, a Minnesota-based company that develops technologies for the collection of whole blood, and processing and storage of blood components.
Haemonetics agreed to pay Pall $551 million, of which $536 million will be paid upon closing and the remaining $15 million paid for additional assets to be delivered by 2016, the statement said. Haemonetics said $475 million will be new borrowings and $61 million will be from existing cash holdings.
Haemonetics did not disclose the purchase price for the property of Hemerus.
