Shares of the following companies had unusual moves in Vietnam trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are as of the close in Ho Chi Minh City. The VN Index (VNINDEX), the benchmark measure of the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange, slid 0.6 percent to 470.21.
Chuong Duong Beverages Joint-Stock Co. (SCD) , a soft- drinks producer, fell 1.9 percent to 10,500 dong. BIDV Securities Joint-Stock Co. cut its stake in Chuong Duong to 4.9 percent from 6 percent, according to a filing with the bourse.
PetroVietnam Fertilizer & Chemical Joint-Stock Co. (DPM) , the country’s biggest listed fertilizer producer, rose 2.6 percent to 35,200 dong, the highest level since Sept. 12. Unconsolidated net income in the first quarter surged 69 percent to 961 billion dong ($46 million), the company said in a statement on the bourse’s website. Unconsolidated revenue jumped 73 percent to 2.6 trillion dong in the same period, according to the statement.
Vietnam Dairy Products Joint-Stock Co. (VNM) , known as Vinamilk, climbed 1.1 percent to 91,000 dong, the most since March 23. The company’s first-quarter net income rose 26 percent to 1.27 trillion dong, according to an exchange filing.
