United Hedged 37 Percent of Second-Quarter Jet Fuel Needs
United Continental Holdings Inc. (UAL) hedged 37 percent of its jet-fuel requirements for the second quarter of 2012.
The Chicago-based carrier said on a conference call today that it locked in its needs at an average Gulf Coast jet fuel equivalent of $3.18 a gallon and that 36 percent of its expected fuel consumption for the second half of the year is hedged.
