Knot Says ECB Bought Time for Governments to Reform

European Central Bank Governing Council member Klaas Knot said governments and banks must use the time that the ECB’s emergency measures have bought for them.

“Time bought by recent ECB measures must be used by governments to reduce debt and modernize their economies, secondly it must be used by banks to clean up their balance sheets,” Knot said at an event in Amsterdam today.
