Duke, Sumitomo Get $353 Million Financing for Kansas Wind Farms

Duke Energy Corp. (DUK) and Sumitomo Corp. (8053) have finalized about $353 million in financing to build and operate two Kansas wind farms they jointly own 50-50.

They closed a construction and term loan facility of about $330 million and a letter of credit facility of about $23 million for the 131 megawatt Cimarron II Windpower Project and the 168 megawatt Ironwood Windpower Project from lenders Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corp., Mizuho Corporate Bank Ltd. and Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ Ltd., Charlotte, North Carolina- based Duke said today in a statement.
